Northstar is seeking therapists interested in treating or learning how to treat anxiety, depression, PTSD, cPTSD and trauma-related conditions using evidence-based practices and interventions. If you have experience providing psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, groups, children, or families and have an interest in trauma-informed, evidence-based practices, Northstar would love to hear from you. Please see more details about the position below. This is a W-2, full-time position for licensed clinicians.
 

Ideal candidates must have:

• Degree from an accredited training program, completed Doctoral Internship OR license in good standing in the state of Virginia

• Clinical experience working with diverse populations

• Demonstrated experience or interest in learning evidence-based practices

• Experience or interest in learning about how to treat trauma-related disorders, anxiety, and depression

• Experience or interest in learning crisis interventions and referring to higher level of care when necessary

• Effective oral and written communication skills

• Openness/receptivity to feedback and dedication to learning and professional development

• Commitment to anti-racism and be affirming of LBGTQA+ & neurodiverse individuals and communities

• Availability to provide in-person services and offer telehealth based on client preferences

• Completed and passed background check before hire date
   

Position Description and Responsibilities:

• Conduct initial evaluations and follow-up therapy sessions with clients

• Provide evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions to clients based on clients’ needs and presenting problem

• Complete proper documentation timely and according to established standards

• Attend treatment meetings, staff meetings, and clinical supervision as needed

• Coordinate additional client care as necessary

• Schedule follow-up sessions and collect payment as needed

• Attend community outreach and networking events as desired

• Other relevant duties as assigned
