Seeking Virginia Licensed Psychologists, Counselors, Social Workers, Family & Marriage Therapists

Northstar is seeking therapists interested in treating or learning how to treat anxiety, depression, PTSD, cPTSD and trauma-related conditions using evidence-based practices and interventions. If you have experience providing psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, groups, children, or families and have an interest in trauma-informed, evidence-based practices, we would love to hear from you. Please see more details about the position below. This is a W-2, full-time and/or part-time, hybrid position for licensed clinicians.

Ideal candidates must have:

  • Degree from an accredited training program and license in good standing in state of Virginia

  • Clinical experience working with diverse populations

  • Demonstrated experience or interest in learning evidence-based practices

  • Experience or interest in learning about and treating trauma-related disorders, anxiety, depression

  • Experience in treating individuals, couples, groups, families, or children

  • Experience with crisis interventions and referring to higher level of care when necessary

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Openness/receptivity to feedback and dedication to learning and professional development

  • Commitment to anti-racism and be LBGTQA+ & neurodiversity affirming

  • Availability to provide in-person services and offer telehealth when necessary

  • Completed and passed background check before hire date

Position Description and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial consultations, initial evaluations and follow-up sessions with clients

  • Provide evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions to clients based on clients’ needs and presenting problem

  • Complete proper documentation (assessments, treatment plans, progress, group notes, contact notes and discharge summaries) timely and according to established standards

  • Enter and save data accurately within Word, Outlook (email and calendaring), EHR

  • Attend treatment meetings, staff meetings, and clinical supervision as needed

  • Coordinate additional client care as necessary

  • Schedule and payment collection as needed

  • Attend community outreach and networking events

  • Other relevant duties as assigned
