Northstar Center is a growing and thriving out-of-network private practice in Loudoun County, Virginia. We are dedicated to delivering high-quality, evidence-based, trauma-informed supportive behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and adults who experience anxiety, mood disorders, depression, and trauma-related disorders, including dissociation, and those who experience challenges related to neurodivergence.
Northstar Center is seeking a driven and passionate Licensed Clinical Psychologist who has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with mood disorders (depression and bipolar), anxiety, OCD, ADHD, those affected by trauma-related disorders, including PTSD, complex PTSD, and trauma-related dissociative disorders.
The Licensed Clinical Psychologist will provide services in at least two of the following areas: individual therapy, psychological evaluations, and the IOP-Lite Skills Plus Program. Clinicians have flexibility in determining their service balance. Beyond the direct service role, opportunities for growth, leadership, and supervision exist. This is an in-person, W-2 part-time position that will transition into a full-time role.
Services at Northstar Center:
Individual Therapy - Tailored, evidence-based therapy for children, adolescents and adults
IOP-Lite - Our Skills Plus Program is a trauma and DBT-informed supportive outpatient program that includes weekly individual therapy, one-on-one skills training, and optional phone coaching.
Testing - Comprehensive psychological assessments for children and adults (ADHD, ASD, mood & personality, differential dx)
ABOUT THE POSITION:
Position Type: Part-Time transitioning to Full-Time
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide individual therapy, with opportunities to facilitate group therapy
Deliver services within the Skills Plus Program
Conduct psychological evaluations for individuals ages 6 and up
Maintain a weekly clinical caseload of at least 22 hours (therapy & testing)
Work with children, adolescents and adults who present with mood & anxiety disorders, ADHD, OCD, phobias, personality disorders, emotion dysregulation, self-harm, suicide ideation, relationship issues, impulsivity
Participate in consultation meetings, didactic training, lunch & learns
Ideal candidates must have:
Graduated from APA accredited graduate program
Demonstrated experience or interest in learning evidence-based practices
Experience in treating high-acuity populations
Experience working with diverse populations
Commitment to anti-racism
Affirming of neurodivergent and LBGTQIA+-populations
Experience with DBT or DBT-informed approaches
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Interest in being part of a collaborative and supportive trauma-informed clinical team
Availability to provide in-person services on-site
